Swayambhu means self-existent, and the stupa consists of eyes on all sides, which depicts faith and peace. The temple holds many architectural shrines and monasteries. Boudhanath Stupa

Boudhanath stupa is the largest and holiest stupa in South East Asia. Boudhanath is a giant mandala enshrined with symbols of enlightenment. The five elements of earth, water, space, fire, and air are engraved in the architecture. As you enter by the gates, you'll see Boudhnanath Stupa surrounded by 16 sided wall. Around the stupa, you'll get glimpses of monks praying. There are monasteries located near the stupa, like Shechen Monastery. Similarly, the area consists of broad areas with cafes and restaurants. Tourists love to visit the restaurants and enjoy peace as it directly faces the Boudhanath Stupa. The main activity here is circulating the stupa clockwise direction, chanting "Om Mani Padme Hum."
