During the day you'll have the opportunity to visit the beautiful villages of Broadway, Widford, Swinbrook, Asthall and Burford, as well as Broadway Tower - with it's panoramic views - and get the chance to walk along some of the Cotswolds' most beautiful off road walking trails.
Heading out of Stratford-upon-Avon and into the Cotswolds National Landscape, we make a brief stop at the rail station in the Cotswolds town of Moreton-in-Marsh to pick up our final passengers. From here, it's a 15 minute drive to our first official stop, so sit back, get to know your fellow passengers and enjoy the beautiful scenery!
Arriving at Fish Hill picnic area we park the minibus and start our walk to Broadway Tower. A gently undulating walk along the Cotswolds Way (0.85 miles / 1.4km) that takes approximately 25-30 minutes at a leisurely pace.
Perched on top of Beacon Hill - the second highest point in the Cotswolds - Broadway Tower has plenty of stories to tell and stunning views of the English countryside. Minimum amount of walking required to visit this stop: 1.7 miles / 2.75km. On arrival at the tower your guide will tell you all about its history before you have free-time climb to the top (entry fee not included), visit the shop/cafe or explore the grounds. After approximately 40-minutes you'll have the choice to either walk with your guide back to the minibus back along the Cotswolds Way (0.85 miles / 1.4km) or, for those more experienced walkers, continue along the Cotswolds Way down the hill to our next stop, Broadway (approximately 1.5 miles / 2.5km).
Broadway is often referred to as "the jewel of the Cotswolds" and you'll soon find out why. Arriving soon after midday you'll have approximately 90-minutes to immerse yourself in this Cotswolds location, get some lunch at one of the many shops / eateries and explore with our personalised maps. Minimum amount of walking required to visit this stop: none.
Arriving just outside the town of Burford we park the minibus and embark on our second walk of the day* - a peaceful circular walk along the Windrush Valley to secluded Cotswolds villages including Swinbrook. This walk is approximately 4.5km / 2.8 miles and takes under 90-minutes. *This walk is optional. Those wishing to skip the second walk of the day will be dropped off in the town of Burford for the afternoon.
After finishing the second walk of the day we make the short journey to Burford for the final stop of the day. A beautiful historic Cotswolds town that's great for exploring, shopping or simply relaxing with a drink after a busy day on the trails. Maps provided.
